Which Countries Eat the most Chocolate?*

Although cocoa is a tropical crop, the world’s largest per capita consumers of chocolate are found in the cooler regions of Europe:

Rank 5: Norway (6.7 kg per capita) – Although health and wellness goals stand as a barrier between the Norwegian population and their sugary product consumption, the consumption of high-calorie chocolates has largely remained unaffected.

Rank 4: United Kingdom (7.4 kg per capita) – The British seem to have a real fetish for chocolates, consuming this confectionery product per capita per year.

Rank 3: Ireland (7.4 kg per capita) – The Irish are truly fond of chocolate, as is evident from global figures indicating that the Irish consume 7.4 kg of chocolate per capita per year.

Rank 2: Germany (7.89 kg per capita) – Germany is the world’s second-largest consumer of chocolate products, with Germans consuming 7.89 kg of chocolate per capita per year. Germany accounts for a quarter of the Western European chocolate market, responsible for €5.9 billion in chocolate sales. 45% of Germans value chocolate for impulse purchases, 76% buy chocolate as a treat, and 60% buy chocolate to satisfy their cravings for sweets.

Rank 1: Switzerland (8.98 kg per capita) – The Swiss people lead the world in chocolate consumption, with 8.98 kg of chocolate consumed per capita. Switzerland also ensures that people in other parts of the world are not deprived of their homemade chocolate delicacies, exporting chocolates worldwide, with Germany, the UK, France, and Italy forming the largest markets for Swiss chocolate manufacturers.

Schokologo focuses on developing individual chocolate gifts in various sizes and shapes. However, one principle runs through all Schokologo products: whether small, large, inexpensive, costly, simple, or complex, the use of top-quality chocolate and the depiction of the most delicate details with unique precision are our highest priority.

For small tokens of appreciation at trade fairs, events, and conferences, Schokologo offers several chocolate variations as promotional items with your logo. Shapes like square, round, heart, business card, and the “Chocolate Key to Success” are part of the “standard” assortment. A new innovative option is the DESIGN Chocolate Line, where milk, dark, and white chocolate are blended into a single logo chocolate bar, onto which any toppings can be sprinkled. For a slightly larger trade fair souvenir, mini praline boxes with 2-3 pralines and small chocolate bars are also available. Are you interested in a chocolate replica of your product for a new product launch? Schokologo can reproduce your product 1:1 with faithful detail. Contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.
