Three thresholds are enough for planning: low-value promotional items up to 10 € net are deductible without a record per recipient. Gifts to business contacts up to 50 € net per recipient and year are a business expense (§ 4 (5) no. 1 EStG, in German), above that not; a flat 30 % tax under § 37b EStG spares the recipient the taxation. Gifts to employees follow their own rules – 60 € per personal occasion, 50 € benefit in kind per month – on the page employee gifts. Your tax adviser decides bindingly; as of 2026.
